Job Description:

Our Warehouse Forklift Drivers possess the aptitude to efficiently maneuver complex machines used in industrial warehouses. We invite you to join us and apply your proficiency in supporting Publix Distribution's effort to maintain a trouble-free, secure, and organized distribution channel while handling goods inside the warehouses.

Moving and storing of cases and pallets accurately and efficiently in the warehouse is executed by Warehouse Forklift Drivers with the use of power-driven equipment.

Warehouse Forklift Drivers are tasked with replenishing emptied pick areas by pulling products from reserve locations.

Additionally, the Warehouse Forklift Drivers are responsible for ensuring that the items are loaded and unloaded accurately and safely. They must also maintain precise inventory records and ensure that items are placed in the correct locations.

Additional Information

The Boxed Meat/Dairy Warehouse Department has a work environment that can have temperatures ranging from 28 to 35°F for extended periods.

You may expect to work in wet conditions for an extended period of time at the Produce Warehouse, with temperatures fluctuating between 35° to 55° Fahrenheit.

The temperature range at the Frozen Food Warehouse can drop to 20 degrees below zero and remain at that point for a prolonged period.

It is essential for candidates at the return center to be able to work outside for an extended period of time, regardless of weather changes.

Fleet maintenance requires the ability to work for prolonged periods in different types of weather.

Several additional stages may need to be accomplished in order to qualify for further review of your application.

Other Compensation Information

• The starting salary is determined by experience or applicable skills, typically ranging between $1.00 and $2.00 above the minimum salary range
• Any associate whose regular schedule includes hours between midnight and 3:00 AM will receive a night differential payment of $.75 per hour, unless they work a shift that either starts at 3:00 AM or ends at midnight.
• The freezer differential, which amounts to $.50 per hour, is paid to associates who have been assigned to work in the Frozen Food freezer area on a regular basis.
• For the hours rendered by associates during the weekend, a weekend differential of $2.00 per hour will be granted, which covers the period from 12:00 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

Year End Bonus

As a means of recognizing the contributions of associates to the company during the year, Publix grants a Holiday Bonus in November.

A bonus amount equal to 15 hours of salary is awarded during the initial year of loyal employment, whereas a bonus equalling one week's payment will be granted during the second year, subject to the employee's continued service until the date of payment.

For the coming years, an amount equal to the pay for two weeks will be given as a bonus.

• obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations (on or before his or her start date in the position)
• ability to lift a minimum of 67 pounds (85 pounds in Boxed Meat/Dairy Warehouse)
• ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• ability to bend, stoop, and twist
• ability to operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of his or her body exposed outside of the operator compartment
• ability to stack product of varying weights
• ability to work under strict time requirements
• ability to read, write, and identify and verify numbers
• ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
